I know the translation of Hebrews has been slow out of the gate. I am not abandoning it; however, I have a paper due on May 1. The thesis of the paper is to underscore how, generally speaking, the historic/traditional Anglican hermeneutic provides a via media between the hermeneutical (and epistemological) problems of private interpretation in Protestantism and unresolvable parity given to Tradition and Scripture in the Roman Church.
If you have any good articles you might suggest that are engaged with contemporary primary sources 1 please leave a comment and let me know about them. I appreciate the help.

1 For example, articles dealing with how Roman Catholics, Protestants or Anglicans deal with Tradition and Scripture today would be helpful. However, articles about Tridentine formulations and polemics are a bit removed for much relevant discussion.
Don’t know that I have anything to contribute, but I sure would like to read that paper.

Good to hear from you Craig! I think I owe you a paper anyway.

Hi there Will! Rachel and I are both sitting in a new coffee shop that just opened near our apt and reading your blog.
I don’t have any resources directly related to this to recommend off the top of my head. Perhaps something by Christopher Hall or DH Williams (Renewing the Tradition comes to mind). But I think both those writers are trying to cultivate evangelical appreciation for tradition, and would have less to say about how tradition functions in Anglican contexts.

Coffee’s on! Thanks, Mike.
Those sound like good resources. My project is similar to Hall and Williams if you’re an evangelical reader. If you’re a Roman Catholic I hope to be working the other way back towards the symbiosis of Tradition and Scripture. Scripture has the ultimate authority and yet how we interpret scripture with any assurance that our interpretation is sound requires Tradition.
So, anyway, I’d love a Venti drip no-nothin’.
